About Me

My name is Peter Taylor, I’m a mild-mannered thirty-something who would like to meet an exiled fourth generation Bury supporter, residing in the Forest of Dean since 2019. I first moved away from ‘oop north’ in 2008, having grown up in Rossendale and latterly lived in Manchester. Watching The Shakers from afar was never easy, especially before the real rise of social media.

In early 2017, my dad died only months after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The effect this had on me and my family was massive, and continues to be felt keenly now. It did, however, serve as the inspiration for creating this blog. He was always keen for me to pursue things I enjoyed, and he often remarked that I ‘had a way with words’. I hope in some small way I’m doing him proud.

Having struggled for years on and off with both anxiety and depression, this gives me a creative outlet to express myself, and for the most part, it has gone from strength to strength, leading me to make contacts and friends I never would have otherwise had.

I’ve done other work besides on this site – my portfolio can be found on Wakelet via this link: https://wke.lt/w/s/8oO0o
